GC 0.21 for Win, Tilesets Working (6/17/12)

Ok, Generic Container has added the tileset patch to the official code (6/17/12). I compiled his latest source on Windows, and here's the latest Goblin Camp 0.21 and supporting files:

Thanks to Quantummy for apparently solving the major tileset issues...

And here's SwarmOfBees Tileset to test with it (with some corrections).

-- As always, extract it into a new folder in Documents\My Games\Goblin Camp\tilesets
-- If the wrong tiles load, go back to main menu and click on the New Tileset Test again. That's what seems to work.

Is that a standalone game, or a patch we have to paste over the original 0.2 game?
I've tried to run it independently, but it wont start and throws an Application Error: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)."
I believe this version fixes some of the crashes and I really hope you could help me out here. Thanks

The goblin-camp.exe in the zip _should_ work standalone...but I had an error with this the first few times I used it but no problem since...

Are you able to get to the main menu screen?

Maybe delete the files in documents/my games/goblin camp folder and try running it again? I really don't know.

I can see you are trying to help and I'm grateful for that.
I look around and see some solutions for the errors I get, solutions that suggest OS-application incompatibility.
Some say my error may appear due to an application built for 32 bit OS, cant run on 64 bit OS.
Also I have a hint that the game is not made for windows 7. Can anyone please confirm playing it on win 7?

I've managed to fix my problem.
The solution seems a bit odd, but I'm glad it helped me get through the startup crashes.
In case of a startup error, you should install the official v 0.2 game and copy the file "msvcr100.dll" from its main folder. Should be 752 kB. Next you should paste and replace the file in the main folder of the unofficial 0.21 game.
Hope this helps as it helped me. As I was unable to get past the fall in the original game due to constant crashes; and the unofficial game wasnt able to start for me.

Thanks Trepach. I found this dll file. I'll put it in a new zip and replace the zip in the link above.

Hopefully that will stop this from happening to anyone else.

I can't seem to get the tilesets to work, lol. I downloaded 0.21 from the main page, then downloaded your update here and replaced the older files. I then download the tileset and put it in documents/my games/goblin camp/tilesets. ingame, I load my game, then push esc, click on tilesets, select the test tileset and click ok, but when I return to the game, there is no change. I also tried the wasteland tileset cause it looked cool, but no change there either. What am I doing wrong? :D Also, I'm excited to have found the game, haha. It's like dwarf fortress, but it certainly has its own awesome quirks!

The official 0.21 release already incorporates the tilesets fix and comes packaged with SwarmOfBees's tileset, so no need to download anything else.

To see the tiles you need to go to settings and switch to one of the three tileset renderers.

Thank you, haha. I was not aware that 0.21 was already incorporated, or that I had to select a tileset renderer. :D Thanks again! (Tilesets are now working, though I am running into an odd issue where the letter o is being represented by a number of other characters, such as a triangle thing, or an underscore. o.o; )
